1:1 Technology Implementation

At Vision Academy Charter School of Excellence, We will implement a 1:1 technology initiative. This program is designed to empower our students by providing them with Chromebook devices for educational purposes, including the option to take them home upon signing a Technology Use Agreement. We believe this initiative offers numerous benefits, shaping a brighter future for our students:

Goals of this project:

1. Facilitation of Flipped and Blended Learning: Chromebook devices enable innovative teaching methods like flipped and blended learning, fostering self-directed learning and critical thinking skills.
2. Synchronous Online Learning: Students can participate in real-time online interactions with teachers and peers, regardless of location.
3. Timely Teacher Feedback: Chromebooks facilitate swift teacher feedback on assignments, enhancing the learning experience.
4. Enhanced Collaboration: Students can collaborate effectively on projects and shared learning experiences.
5. Diverse Learning Styles: Chromebooks cater to various learning styles, ensuring tailored materials for every student.
6. Expanded Internet Access: Chromebooks provide easy access to online resources, enriching students’ research and learning experiences.
7. 21st Century Technology Skills: Students develop proficiency in 21st-century technology skills.
8. Hygienic Document Handling: Chromebooks reduce the need for physical paperwork, promoting hygiene.
9. Integration with Handbook: This initiative aligns with guidelines in our Parent and Student Handbook, ensuring a consistent educational environment.

Chromebook Usage Guidelines:

• Students must use their school-provided G-Suite account to log in.
• Ensure devices are fully charged before school.
• Report technical issues promptly.
• Maintain device cleanliness and hygiene.
• Practice responsible digital citizenship.
• Adhere to Handbook rules.
  
  

Specific Chromebook Usage Restrictions:

• Prohibited tampering with asset tags or serial numbers.
• Intentional device damage is strictly forbidden.
• Stickers or decorations on Chromebooks are not allowed.
• Never exchange devices or share passwords.
• Keep food and drinks away from Chromebooks.
• Prohibited from using school email for unauthorized websites.
• Avoid inappropriate internet use.

Violations may result in disciplinary actions. Unauthorized Google search attempts may lead to disabling Google search features.
