Our History

A dedicated group of residents, business owners, and experienced educators came together over coffee to explore ways to contribute to improving their community, where they both live and work. During their discussions, the group consistently emphasized the pivotal role of education in bringing about positive change in Southeast Delaware County. Many residents expressed their desire to enroll their children at Vision Academy Charter School in East Lansdowne but encountered extended waiting lists.

These meetings eventually led to developing and submitting the application for Vision Academy CS of Excellence as a replication project to the Southeast Delco School District on November 15, 2019. Subsequently, the charter received approval from the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania on March 30, 2023.

Since then, the school’s founders have tirelessly sought a suitable location to establish the institution. A long-term lease agreement was recently successfully negotiated between Greater Bibleway Temple in Sharon Hill Borough and Vision Academy Charter School of Excellence. The school will occupy the Education Building (formerly used by Holy Spirit School and currently utilized as Sharon Hill Head Start/Early Childhood Learning Center) located at 1016 & 1028 School Street in Sharon Hill Borough, Delaware County, PA 19079, as well as the Rectory Building, designated for administrative offices. Together, these premises will serve as the future home of Vision Academy CS of Excellence.

Vision Academy CS of Excellence is set to welcome students in August 2024 for the 2024 and 2025 school year, fulfilling the community’s dream of a quality choice in public education.
