Health Services at Vision Academy Charter School of Excellence
At Vision Academy, we prioritize the health and well-being of our students. We provide various health services to ensure their physical well-being and promote a healthy learning environment. Here’s an overview of the health services available to all Vision Academy students every year, with no charge for exams conducted at the school:
Medical Examinations:
- Required for children entering kindergarten or 1st grade and those in 6th and 11th grades.
- Parents and guardians are encouraged to have their family physician conduct these examinations, although it is at their own expense.
Dental Screenings:
- Required for children in kindergarten and first, third, and seventh grades.
- We recommend that parents and guardians have their family dentist conduct these examinations at their own expense.
Vision Tests:
- Administered annually to each child by the school nurse.
Hearing Screenings:
- Given to students in kindergarten and grades one, two, three, and seven by the school nurse.
Height, Weight, and BMI Measurements:
- It is taken annually for each student by the school nurse.
School Health Records:
- Initiated at the time of each child’s school admission and become part of their cumulative health record throughout their school career.
Immunizations Requirements:
- Proof of completed immunizations is necessary for school admission.
- Parents or guardians must provide updated records if a child receives immunizations during the school year.
Medication Administration at School:
- Parents and guardians are encouraged to administer medications to their children at home whenever possible.
- Medications will only be administered at school if specific conditions are met, including proper labeling and clear directions.
