Volunteer Protocol
Dear VACSE Families,
If at any point in the future you decide to volunteer as a chaperone for a school field trip (or for any other VACSE event), please refer to this email.
Listed below are the required clearances for volunteers. Attached, you will also find an affidavit/waiver that must be signed if you have lived in PA for 10 or more years. If you have lived in PA for 10 or more years, you do not need to submit an FBI Clearance (i.e. fingerprint). Instead, you must simply return the attached affidavit to us (along with the two other required clearances). If you have not lived in PA for 10 or more years, you will need to submit the FBI Clearance to us (along with the two other required clearances), and you can disregard the attached affidavit.
In other words, we will need the below 3 documents from all volunteers.
- Child Abuse Clearance – https://www.compass.state.pa.us/CWIS/Public/Home
- PA Criminal History Check – https://epatch.pa.gov/home
- FBI Clearance (Fingerprinting) (only if you have lived in PA for less than 10 years) – https://uenroll.identogo.com/
- Signed Affidavit/Waiver (only if you have lived in PA for 10 or more years).
Volunteers will need to pay for the Child Abuse Clearance and the FBI Clearance (if applicable). The PA Criminal History Check Clearance is free for volunteers.
You can email these documents to Ms. Vee (administrative assistant) at aksoy@vacse.org, or you can submit hard copies to the main office.
If your request to volunteer as a chaperone at VACSE is approved, you will receive a confirmation email.
If you specifically plan to volunteer as a chaperone for a field trip, you will only be able to ride the yellow bus with students if there are enough available seats on the bus. Otherwise, you will be asked to arrive to the destination on your own.
With any specific questions or concerns about this process or about clearances, please email Mr. Chinar (principal) at chinar@vacse.org.
